Remove Spider Veins

Effective spider vein treatment for flawless legs.

Remove Spider Veins

Term and origin: The term spider veins refers to small red or bluish veins on the legs.

Spider veins occur when veins on the skin surface expand. This happens as a result of a disorder of the leg and pelvic veins, which have the task of transporting blood back to the heart, while the venous valves prevent blood from flowing back down.

Spider veins are a sign of connective tissue weakness or first precursors of venous weakness that can lead to varicose veins. In such venous weakness, the defective venous valves allow blood to flow back to the feet, causing venous expansion.

Spider Vein Treatment with Laser

Spider veins vary in length and thickness, which influences the choice of suitable laser. Some lasers are very good for deep-lying spider veins, while others are better suited for superficial spider veins. Dr. Caspari will be happy to advise you on this topic and procedure at his clinic in Munich.

Vascular conditions are treated with our Nd:YAG laser system at 1064 nm. In particular, superficially located vessels, such as spider veins and so-called "Spider Naevi" can be treated with this highly developed and selective laser system. Disturbing superficial blood vessels in the face, nose area, or legs are eliminated.

The treatment itself is not particularly painful and you do not need to wear compression stockings after treatment, for example on the legs. For larger affected areas, we often recommend a second treatment, as the blood flow usually seeks a new path for redirection after the first treatment through the closure of the vessels. This can sometimes lead to disturbing superficial vessels in the area around the already closed veins.
