Nose Correction

Aesthetic and functional nose correction for a harmonious appearance.

Nose Correction

A nose correction, also known as rhinoplasty, is a surgical procedure that can improve both the aesthetic appearance of the nose and its functionality. Many people opt for this procedure to reduce, enlarge, straighten their nose, or change the shape of the nose tip. In addition, a nose correction can also have medical indications, such as correcting breathing problems caused by a deviated nasal septum or other structural anomalies.

A crucial step before surgery is a detailed consultation with an experienced plastic surgeon. In this conversation, the individual wishes, expectations, and medical history of the patient are discussed to ensure that the procedure meets the desired goals. To truly achieve this goal, we advise you WITHOUT the use of virtual imaging technology, as this often does not reflect realistic expectations. However, you are welcome to bring pictures of your desired nose for discussion to use as a basis for conversation.

After surgery, it is normal to expect swelling and bruising, which usually subside within one to two weeks. The final results are often only visible after several months, as the nose needs a lot of time to settle and the swelling must completely subside. A final assessment of the nose correction is only made after one year.

It is important to have realistic expectations about the results and to be aware that every nose is unique.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find answers to the most important questions about nose correction

A nose correction is the shape change of a given situation. That is, one tries to harmoniously integrate the nose into the facial structures of the patient in question and to harmonize the entire facial expression with a nose correction.
We perform the nose correction at our clinic in Munich basically under general anesthesia. The time frame is about two to 3 hours. Postoperatively, you stay at least 24 hours in our clinic.
First of all, it is pain-free. Of course, there is usually swelling and blue discoloration in the area of both lower eyelids, which is due to the work on the so-called bony nasal framework. Otherwise, wearing a splint for about ten days is required, which is then removed at our clinic in Munich, and one is then actually socially acceptable again in all social areas.
After a nose correction, the first results are usually visible directly after the removal of the splint. However, the nose often remains swollen for a longer time, healing takes a lot of time here. The final result can thus only be assessed after about 12 months.
