Thread Lift

Thread lift is a proven lifting treatment of the face with specially developed threads.

In conventional medicine (e.g., cardiology), polylactic acid threads or PDO threads have been used for many years without known problems. Thus, the application is based on very extensive experience with the material used. The treatment methods have also evolved and been perfected. We look back on long experience in our practice. We have been working with threads for over 20 years.

How long does a thread lift last?

Depending on the number and type of threads used, the lifting effect lasts 1 to 3 years. Although the threads are already broken down by the body after about 12-18 months, a natural support structure is created simultaneously through increased collagen formation.

What effect and result does a thread lift have?

We work with products from Sinclair (Silhouette Soft), which has two modes of action:

  • Lifting Effect

A lifting effect for immediate but subtle results: During treatment, the doctor can define the relevant area in which he tightens and lifts the tissue using bidirectional and resorbable cones.

  • Regenerative Effect through Collagen Neogenesis

A volume-giving effect for gradual natural results: Through the resorption of the thread material, polylactic acid, natural collagen production is stimulated, further improving the treatment area.

How does a thread lift work?

The result can be achieved easily, without pain under local anesthesia. The treatment duration depends on the amount of threads to be used, but is usually no longer than thirty minutes. The "downtime", the time until a beautiful and stable result, is usually no more than three days.

Questions and Answers

2 weeks before the procedure, no intake of blood-thinning medications such as aspirin.
A thread lift can be performed either under local anesthesia or general anesthesia. For particularly anxious patients, we recommend performing the procedure under general anesthesia.
Regardless of whether the thread lift is performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia, the procedure usually takes about one hour.
After treatment, you can leave the practice again after sufficient cooling.
After a thread lift, bandages (Steri Strip) are applied, which you can remove yourself after three days. Rubbing the face as well as sleeping on the face should be avoided during this time. A few days after the procedure, small indentations may occur at the puncture sites, which you can resolve yourself through gentle massaging. It is recommended to rest physically for two weeks and to refrain from sauna or swimming pool visits during this time. Painkillers can be taken if needed.
The first results are visible about one week after treatment. In the first two weeks, swelling and hematomas can still slightly affect the appearance.
Once the swelling has subsided and the puncture sites have healed, our patients are usually socially acceptable again after one week.
